🍁 Falling into Autumn with Pre-K!
Today marked the official first day of fall, and our littlest learners at Taylor-White were ready to celebrate!
Our amazing Pre-K team kicked off the season by diving headfirst into a festive, hands-on crafting session to create their very own fall trees.
Armed with tissue paper, glue, and lots of imagination, these creative kiddos brought the warm colors of autumn right into the classroom. Watching them practice their fine motor skills while tearing paper and gluing colorful leaves was an absolute joy!
Take a look at these sweet faces enjoying the change of season. It is safe to say our Pre-K students are already growing a love for fall!🎨

💨🎨 Tiny scientists, big discoveries!
Our Kindergarten Timberwolf scientists took over the Science Lab today to dive into the wonderful world of weather science. To help study how the wind moves, these creative young researchers crafted their very own custom windsocks! Through this hands-on STEM project, they are learning how to observe wind direction and see how moving air pushes objects in our environment. After testing their colorful creations inside the lab, our Timberwolves are ready to take their skills out to the field to watch them wave, flutter, and track the breeze! 🐺🔬✨

💡🌟 Reading just got a whole lot brighter in 4th grade! 🌟💡
Mrs. Morgan’s 4th graders lit up the classroom today for a special Neon Reading Day! 🟢⚡️
Wearing neon colors and using blacklights, our students proved that learning glows when you dive deep into a good text. 📖✨During this high-energy day, these bright scholars put on their thinking caps to practice close reading and annotating. Using neon highlighters to map out their texts, they focused on hunting down the main idea and finding key supporting details to back it up. They proved that reading isn't just about sounding out words—it's about investigating clues like real detectives! 🕵️‍♂️🔍
We love seeing our 4th graders so excited about leveling up their reading skills. Keep shining bright, readers! 🌟📚#NeonReadingDay #4thGradeBright #GlowingMinds

🧲🥣 Science Lab is officially in "attraction" mode! 🥣🧲
Our 5th Grade Timberwolf Scientists jumped into the world of chemistry this week to explore the fascinating differences between mixtures and solutions! 🐺🔬
To put their knowledge to the test, students conducted a hands-on experiment to separate a physical mixture. Using strong magnets, plastic baggies, and a little bit of water, these clever wolves successfully extracted real iron straight from everyday breakfast cereal! 🥣✨
They loved seeing science come alive right in front of their eyes while mastering how physical properties can be used to separate a mixture.
Way to think like real chemists, Timberwolves! We are so proud of your curiosity and hard work in the lab. 🧪👏#TimberwolfPride #MixturesAndSolutions #FutureScientists

🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣 "Make your mark and see where it takes you!" 🟣🔵🟢🟡🟠🔴
Mrs. Benefield’s Kindergarten Class had the best time celebrating International Dot Day on September 15th! 🎨✨Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds' beloved children's book The Dot, our little leaders explored their inner artists by designing and decorating their very own unique dots. We also turned our creativity into a fun math lesson by practicing all our favorite geometric shapes! 🟥🔺🔵⭐️ From circles to squares, these brilliant learners showed us how much courage, collaboration, and creativity they have to share.
We are so proud of how our sweet kindergarteners are already making their mark on the world this school year! 🌎❤️#InternationalDotDay #KindergartenCreativity #MakingOurMark

🔴🔵 Counting is tons of fun in Ms. Moore’s kindergarten class! 🟢🟡
This week, our littlest mathematicians have been busy building their number skills using vibrant colored discs. This hands-on activity is helping them develop crucial foundational skills, including:
One-to-One Correspondence: Matching one count to one physical object.
Color Sorting: Grouping objects by color while keeping track of their totals.
Fine Motor Skills: Stacking, sliding, and organizing their counters.
It is amazing to watch their confidence grow as they see numbers come to life right on their desks! 🔢✨

🦷✨ BRUSHING UP ON HEALTHY SMILES! ✨🦷
Our sweet preschoolers had an amazing time learning all about how to take care of their teeth! 🪥🦷
To help them practice, they used white ceramic tiles that looked just like real teeth. The children worked hard on their brushing skills, practicing moving their toothbrushes in circles for a full 2 minutes! ⏱️💫
The kids were thrilled to take home their very own new toothbrush, toothpaste, and a special "lost tooth" box for when those first baby teeth wiggle loose. 🎁🧚‍♀️
We are so proud of our little learners and their bright, healthy smiles! 😁❤️

🎢 Hold on tight! Mrs. Ward’s 4th-grade scientists are engineering the ultimate thrill rides!
This week, our classroom transformed into an amusement park as students designed, built, and tested their very own rollercoasters.
Hands-on learning was at an all-time high as these creative engineers explored the physics behind:
Speed: Figuring out exactly how to make their marbles zoom through the tracks.
Gravity: Learning how a great drop provides the energy needed to conquer loops and turns.
Collision: Testing what happens when forces meet at the end of the line!
We are so proud of their teamwork, critical thinking, and amazing problem-solving skills. Check out some of our future mechanical engineers in action! 👇

Fourth-grade students test energy and motion by rolling toy cars down ramps to see how speed and mass change when objects collide.
How the Collision Experiment Works
The Setup: Students build small ramps using books, rulers, or tracks and line up toy cars
The Action: They roll a moving car down the ramp to crash into a stationary object, like another car, a cup, or a block.
The Science: Students learn that higher ramps give cars more speed, which transfers more energy during the crash.
