I graduated from the University of South Alabama with both a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a Reading Specialist M.Ed. degree.  I have been a teacher for MCPSS for 20+ years.  I have taught both Kindergarten and 1st grade, with the majority of my tenure being spent in 1st grade. When it comes to teaching, my philosophy is that children learn best in an organized and structured classroom where there are clearly established routines  and procedures.  When children know what’s expected of them and feel like they know what’s going to happen next, they feel safe and secure.  Then, they are able to blossom in an academic setting that allows for fun, authentic, and  interactive activities.
